Leaders of the so-called “Alliance of the Willing” discussed the progress made on the issue of using frozen Russian assets to finance Ukraine during a video conference today, according to information from the office of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The teleconference came a day after the leaders of Britain, France and Germany held talks with US President Donald Trump about Washington’s initiative to reach an agreement to end the war in Ukraine.
Last month, Kiev rejected the peace plan presented by Washington that included significant concessions to Moscow. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s European allies have focused their efforts on providing strong security guarantees as part of any deal to settle the conflict.
Leaders of the “Alliance of the Willing” today agreed that the proposed peace plan is a “turning point” in the war that has raged for almost four years.
