Tite at Cruzeiro: salary, how negotiations are going and chances of it happening

Tite no Cruzeiro: salário, como está negociação e chance de acontecer image

O Cruzeiro considers the conversations held with Tite satisfactory and works with Expectation of concluding an agreement this Tuesday (16/12). After Leonardo Jardim’s departure from technical command, the club and coach spent a good part of Monday afternoon talking about the possibility of a partnership. The information was initially published on the website “ge.com”.

Tite, currently 64 years old, appears as the main candidate to take over the vacancy left by the Portuguese. The internal assessment is that the meeting was productive, and the board awaits a definitive position from the coach in the next few hours.

The initial contacts took place over the last few weeks, but negotiations actually advanced this Monday, shortly after the confirmation of Leonardo Jardim’s departure. Cruzeiro representatives met personally with Tite and his manager to present the sports plan designed for the coming years.

Within the club, the understanding is that the coach’s profile fits the Cruzeiro project, both due to his technical and tactical knowledge and his experience in managing the squad and the daily routine at Toca da Raposa.

In addition to Cruzeiro, Tite is also on Internacional’s radar, which was the first to formalize a proposal. The Colorado management is already aware of the Minas Gerais club’s interest.

According to journalist Lucas Collar, from the website “Vozes do Gigante”, Inter offered the coach a two-year contract. Furthermore, the cost of Tite and the coaching staff to Inter would be approximately R$2 million per month. It is possible that Cruzeiro’s offer has similar patterns.

The coach’s name gained strength at Cruzeiro after Leonardo Jardim’s decision to leave his position. In a press conference, SAF owner Pedro Lourenço explained that he tried to keep the Portuguese coach, but that he left for personal reasons. He highlighted the relationship built, praised the work developed and stated that Jardim’s period at the club left important lessons for the institution.

Since when has Tite been without a club?

Tite is 64 years old and has not worked since September 2024, when he was fired from Flamengo. In April of this year, the coach reached a verbal agreement to lead Corinthians, but suffered from an anxiety attack and gave up taking over the team.

The invitations continued to arrive even during the break. Over the last few months, Tite has received surveys from clubs and teams, such as Santos, Fortaleza and the Venezuelan Federation.

The coach decided to return to football in 2026, now free from the anxiety attack. Behind the scenes, he made clear his desire to play outside Brazil, but kept the doors open to Brazilian clubs.
