made one of his first statements after the operation in Venezuela that resulted in the dictator’s capture. In an interview with Fox News this Saturday (3/01), the President of the United States stated that he followed the action as if he were “watching a television program” and praised the agility and execution of the military offensive: “If you had seen the speed and violence of how it happened… it was an incredible job.”

During the interview, Trump stated that he followed the operation in real time from Mar-a-Lago, Florida. The president also detailed strategic aspects of the action that resulted in the capture of the Venezuelan dictator: the planning lasted several days and was postponed due to weather conditions, as the government was waiting for a scenario with less cloud cover for execution.

The offensive involved military equipment, with helicopters and aircraft, and, according to Trump, the arrest of Maduro and his wife occurred “in a matter of seconds”. The president also highlighted the coordination of the operation and compared it to other military actions conducted by the United States, such as attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities in 2025.

Donald Trump also reiterated that he followed the entire development as if he were watching a television program: “The team did an incredible job. They rehearsed and practiced like no one has ever seen. And I was told by real military personnel that there is no other country on Earth capable of carrying out such a maneuver. I saw what happened, I watched it like it was a television show. And if you had seen the speed, the violence… You know, they talk about violence, they used that term… It was something incredible, an incredible job that these people did, there was no one else who could do something like that.”

Maduro was captured during an operation conducted by United States forces in the early hours of Saturday (03/01). According to US Attorney General Pam Bondi, the Venezuelan dictator will be taken to New York, where he will face American justice. First lady Cilia Flores was also captured and is the target of charges brought by United States authorities.
