The president of the USA, Donald Trump, reaffirmed this Thursday, 5th, that he has good relations with the new government of Venezuela and that he is negotiating with Iran, after tensions between the two countries grew in recent days around negotiations scheduled for this Friday.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen cooperation this good. They were in serious economic trouble and it’s been great for them,” Trump said of the interim government in Caracas. “I think they accepted us.” He participated in the National Prayer Breakfast religious event in Washington.
Regarding Iran, the American president once again said that negotiations are ongoing. Representatives from the two countries are expected to meet this Friday, the 6th, in Oman, according to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Washington also confirmed the dialogue, after impasses this week over the location and format of the negotiations.

Trump also commented on this year’s midterm elections, assessing that if the Republican Party wins 20 to 30 seats in the House, his government will have “a lot of ease”. He also defended that the US Supreme Court should vote in favor of the government on the issue of tariffs, which does not yet have an exact date to be judged by the American judiciary.
The president classified the continuity of his tariff policy as “fundamental” for the investments and negotiations that the US is carrying out. According to him, the USA no longer intends to invest in the wind energy sector and criticized the maintenance of these investments by European countries.
“Wind energy is an easy way to lose money. European countries are destroying themselves with wind energy and immigration and many of them are no longer recognizable. It will soon become impossible for them,” said the US president.
