The Municipality of Lagos promotes, between the 13th and 15th of February, a set of initiatives to mark Saint Valentine’s Day, aimed at couples residing in the municipality and visitors. The municipality emphasizes that “love is in the air in Lagos”, inviting the population to celebrate this special date.
Under the motto “Lagos com Amor”, the program proposes the celebration of love “in its different forms”, bringing together romantic moments, cultural experiences, gastronomy, music and entertainment in various public spaces in the city.
Romantic experiences in public space
Between the 13th and 15th of February, the Valentine’s Swing – Cantinho da Fotografia, located in the Historic Center, next to the Taxi Rank, will be available as a setting to record special moments for two.
On February 14th, at 10:00, the guided tour “Together Looking at the Sea” will take place, led by Artur de Jesus, starting at Avenida dos Descobrimentos and passing through Ponta da Piedade and Porto de Mós. Participation is free, subject to prior online registration.
Music, crafts and gastronomy
Still on February 14th, the Love Market – Craft Show opens its doors at the Levante Market, between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm, continuing the following day, from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Organized by the Barlavento Artisans Association, with the support of the Municipality of Lagos, the market includes crafts, sweets, food and drinks and an entertainment program with live music and theater.
Gastronomy is also part of the program with the showcooking “Menu para Jantar Romântico”, hosted by Teresa Couto, on February 14th, at 5:30 pm, at Restaurante Petanca – Convívio e Sabores. The initiative, aimed at couples and with free participation upon prior registration, includes the preparation of “Bacalhau com Broa no Forno” and the dessert “Grilled Pineapple with Cream Cheese and Grated Coconut”, with registration via the link
One of the highlights of the program is the Saint Valentine’s Concert – Love Songs from the 70s & 80s, by Orquestra Ligeira de Lagos, on February 14th, at 7:00 pm, at the Duval Pestana Auditorium, at the Lagos Cultural Center.
During the 13th, 14th and 15th of February, the Municipality of Lagos provides free parking in Parque da Frente Ribeirinha, for up to two hours per day, upon presentation of a receipt for purchases over 10 euros in local shops or restaurants.
