Four hours or more in front of the screen – for many children and young people this has long been everyday life. A new large-scale study from the USA now suggests that use for this duration is associated with significant risks to mental health. Data from more than 50,000 children and young people between the ages of six and 17 from 2020 and 2021 were analyzed. The study is one of the largest studies on this topic to date and provides a differentiated analysis of the factors that explain this connection for the first time.
