Reuters) – The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), assessed this Tuesday that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will have to enter the fiscal agenda in 2027 if he is re-elected for a fourth term in the October elections this year.
Participating via videoconference in a BTG Pactual bank event held in São Paulo, Motta said, at the same time, that the fiscal issue will not be at the center of the electoral debate, which, in his view, will be focused on everyday issues for the population.
The president of the Chamber also said that the rapporteur’s definition of the proposed amendment to the Constitution (PEC) on the end of the 6 x 1 work schedule should occur in the week following Carnival and that his expectation is that in the month of May, which is the month of Labor Day, the House will vote on the proposal to end the model of six days worked for one day off.
