Minister Marco Buzzi, of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), asked to be removed from office for 90 days this Tuesday, the 10th. In a message sent to colleagues, Buzzi once again denied accusations that he had committed sexual crimes against two women.
According to the minister’s press office, the request states that the patient has heart problems.
The first accusation came to light last week, when the family of an 18-year-old girl approached court ministers. According to reports, the victim spent vacations with the minister’s parents and family at his property, located in Santa Catarina. The minister would have tried to grab the young woman by force.

The case is being investigated by the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and the Federal Supreme Court (STF). The STJ opened an inquiry to investigate the reports. This Tuesday, the Court will hold a new session behind closed doors to decide whether to open a new investigation to investigate the second complaint.
In the complaint released this week, a woman who worked with the minister reported facts similar to the first case. The two processes are under secrecy at the CNJ.
Lawyers João Costa, João Pedro Mello and Maria Fernanda Saad, who are leading Buzzi’s defense, say that he “did not commit any improper act”. The defense claims that “instant leaks of confidential information about unverified facts are a sordid trick”, and that “courts, with experienced magistrates and rites refined over centuries, cannot be replaced by ‘judges’ and inflammatory opinions”.
