The Federal Police carried out an operation, on the morning of this Tuesday (10), against the gang responsible for the largest cocaine seizure ever recorded in the state of Santa Catarina.
The seizure took place on November 6, 2024, on BR 101, in Itajaí, when PRF police officers located 1.3 tons of the drug in a truck trunk. At the time, the illicit substance was seized and the truck driver was arrested red-handed.
This morning’s action fulfilled four preventive arrest warrants and ten search and seizure warrants in the states of , focusing on organizers, financiers and logistical facilitators of cargo transport.
The in-depth investigation, carried out by FICCO/SC, allowed us to identify other people involved in the especially allegedly connected to the shipment, whose developments are the target of this new operation.
Currently, FICCO/SC is made up of the Civil Police, Federal Police, Military Police of the State of Santa Catarina, Criminal Police of the State of Santa Catarina and the National Secretariat for Penal Policies.
