Edinho Silva states that MDB, PDT, União Brasil and PP declared support for the president “in some states”
The president of the PT (Workers’ Party), Edinho Silva, stated that the party is talking to Centrão parties about supporting the president’s candidacy (PT) for re-election this year. He cited the MDB (Brazilian Democratic Movement), PP (Progressives), PDT (Democratic Labor Party) and União Brasil.
Edinho said that the parties align with the PT in “some states”. The declaration was made this Tuesday (10.Feb.2026), in Congress. He had participated in the solemn session in honor of the party’s 46th anniversary.
He declared that he talks frequently with the president of the MDB, Baleia Rossi. “The MDB is a national party that moves a lot across the regions. It is not a party like the PT, which has its own line and moves nationally. In many states, the MDB has already declared support for us and we are working to increase this alliance”these.
