Tokyo – Heavy snowfall has caused the deaths of 46 people in Japan in recent weeks. 558 other people have been injured so far, the Japanese authorities announced on Tuesday. Many fatal accidents occurred when masses of snow fell from roofs onto residents or because people fell while clearing snow. Snowfall, some of which has previously been unknown, has been falling since the end of January, especially in the north of Japan.
