Vienna – The National Bank continues to predict modest growth for the domestic economy in view of the war in the Middle East and increased energy prices, but is somewhat more optimistic than recently. For this year it expects GDP to increase by 0.6 percent, after 0.5 percent in the March forecast. In 2027 and 2028, growth accelerates to 1.1 and 1.2 percent, respectively. The OeNB’s inflation expectation (HICP) is now 3.2 percent, previously it was 2.7 percent.
