Ten people, including the suspected attacker, have been killed in a shooting in western Canada. The victims were found at a high school and a home in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. With reference to the police, Canadian public television CBC reported about it, writes TASR.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said six people were found dead at Tumbler Ridge High School, another person died on the way to hospital and two victims were located at a home believed to be related to the attack. More than 25 other people were injured, two of them were taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

A woman attacked

The body of the person suspected of the attack was also discovered inside the school after an apparent suicide. Canadian media reported that the attacker was a woman, but the police have not yet released details about the suspect, AFP wrote.

Authorities told people in the small town of about 2,400 people to stay indoors while security reinforcements arrived from nearby areas. Later, this regulation was revoked.

Tumbler Ridge is located over 1,000 kilometers north of Vancouver near the Alberta border. According to the provincial government, the high school in the city has 175 students in grades seven through 12, the AP agency reported.
