Expelled at the end of last year, the former minister (Tourism) points out the inconsistency of his former legend, who has been showing signs of rapprochement with the Lula government.
“Everything is happening as I said. União Brasil will support Lula, at least to a large extent. . Now comes the president’s reelection in the first round and mine as senator in Pará,” he told the Panel.
The expulsion occurred because Sabino refused to leave his position as minister, contrary to the party’s directive to break with the government.
He later left the ministry following Lula’s decision, precisely to accommodate the son of a federal deputy from União Brasil, in an effort to bring him closer.
There have also been conversations between the presidents of União Brasil, Antonio Rueda, and PP, Ciro Nogueira, with the Lula government. The two parties form a federation.
Another sign of rapprochement is the negotiation with Lula’s support.
For Sabino, who currently serves as a federal deputy and intends to run for senator, many members of União Brasil sympathize with Lula. “President Lula has many hands in the center. The majority will walk with him”, he states.
The former minister is currently without a party and must define his new party by the beginning of April to contest the election.
