Microsoft opens 2 AI data centers in Brazil

Units are installed in the State of São Paulo and are part of the company’s R$ 14.7 billion investment in the country

The president of Microsoft Brazil, announced on Wednesday (11.Feb.2026) that 2 AI (artificial intelligence) and cloud data centers are already in operation in Brazil. The units, called data halls, are installed in the State of São Paulo. The statement was made during the event, which brought together more than 3,500 people in the capital of São Paulo, according to the organization.

The works were completed in January, but Microsoft said it will not inform which cities the data centers are located in for security reasons. The capacity of the units and customers were also not disclosed.

In September 2024, Microsoft would invest R$14.7 billion in cloud and AI infrastructure in Brazil by 2027. According to the company, “construction of additional units is progressing on schedule.” The company, however, did not say when they will be opened.

“Microsoft believes that artificial intelligence can be a great attribute to make Brazil more competitive, increasing productivity, innovation and placing the country in a prominent global role”declared Laham at the opening of the event.

The company also stated that it has a goal of training 5 million Brazilians in AI skills by next year. Since the launch of , Microsoft has registered more than 6.6 million Brazilians who have started some type of training and 2.8 million have completed their courses, according to the official note.
