A woman in her 50s suspected of double infanticide in the northeast after two babies were discovered dead in a freezer was arrested today in the Paris region, sources familiar with the case said.
According to the first source, who spoke to Agence France-Presse, a man contacted the police today after finding a dead newborn in a freezer at his home, in Aigueviers-et-Lémont, in the Haute-Saône region. Officers who went to the residence found the body of a second baby.
The first evidence of the investigation leads to the mother of the babies, who left the house without informing anyone.
The woman was arrested early Wednesday in Boulogne-Billancourt. A second source said one of the sons of the suspect, who already has nine children from two marriages, lives in the area.
