An integrated action between the Civil Police and the Military Police resulted in the arrest, on Thursday afternoon (12), of the perpetrator of the homicide that killed Raimundo Nonato Vieira da Silva, a crime that occurred last Tuesday (10).
According to police chief Marcílio Laurentino, as the suspect was not caught in the act of murder, an existing arrest warrant was served against him for the crime of rape. The court order had been represented by the police chief himself in January 2025, after the person under investigation was found responsible for two rapes of a vulnerable person carried out in Ramal dos Pinheiros, rural area of Rodrigues Alves, against two teenagers, aged 13 and 11.

During interrogation, the prisoner reported that he killed Raimundo Nonato after, according to him, he received a slap in the face and was threatened with a knife. Still according to his version, at the moment the victim dropped the bladed weapon, he would have picked it up and delivered a single blow to the chest, then fleeing through the woods. The suspect stated that he walked until he reached Porto Walter, where he was located and arrested by security forces.
The man must undergo a custody hearing, when the Judiciary will decide whether to maintain his prison sentence.
