Manex Silva is in the top 100 in crosscountry skiing – 02/13/2026 – Sport

Owner of the best result in Brazil in cross-country skiing in editions of the Winter Olympic Games, Manex Silva from Acre finished this Friday (13) in 97th place, among 113 participants, in the 10 km freestyle cross-country skiing race, in the region of Tesero, in northern Italy.

Starting in 103rd position in the race that is not his specialty, the skier gained positions and completed the course in a time of 26min51s4.

The winner was Norwegian Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, with 20min36s2. With the victory, his third in Milan-Cortina, he reached his eighth Olympic gold medal, equaling the record for most medalists at the Games held by Norwegians Ole Einar Bjørndalen, from biathlon, and Bjørn Dæhlie and Marit Bjorgen, from cross-crountry skiing.

Frenchman Mathis Desloges took silver, with 20min41s1, and Norwegian Einar Hedegart took bronze (20min52s2). Klæbo and Desloges repeated their result on the skiathlon podium, on Saturday (7).

On Tuesday (10), Manex Silva had achieved a historic result for the country, by finishing the qualifying phase of the cross-country skiing free sprint in 48th place, surpassing the best Brazilian record of Jaqueline Mourão from 2010, with 66th place in Vancouver.
