This year’s edition has a total budget of PLN 12 million. The following may apply for funding: foundations, associations, sports clubs (including student and local government ones), Jordan Gardens and interschool sports centers. The most important thing is that they conduct regular sports activities for children and teenagers.
As in the previous edition, football and its varieties were excluded from the program, although multi-section clubs can still take part in the recruitment – however, the funds can only go to other sports sections.
The funds can be used, among others: for the rental of halls and sports facilities, organization of tournaments and camps, entry fees and coaches’ remuneration. The program also includes the purchase of sports equipment – including those that adapt activities to the needs of people with disabilities. Importantly, beneficiaries of the first edition can apply for funds again.
The program focuses primarily on equalizing opportunities. In many parts of Poland, sports offers for children are limited, and local clubs often operate thanks to great passion and small budgets.
Sportowy ORLEN helps change this – it provides the opportunity to conduct professional activities, develop talents and build sports attitudes, from responsibility to fair play. Supporting young people with disabilities is also important so that they can fully participate in the sports life of their peers.
The ORLEN Sports Program operates under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and the Minister of Education. Details and recruitment rules can be found at:
