Even in a good phase, Corinthians sees demand for tickets decreasing; understand

O Corinthiansdespite having a good time on the field, has seen a drop in demand for tickets at the start of the season. The lower-than-expected crowds at the Neo Química Arena against Capivariano, in the Campeonato Paulista, and against Red Bull Bragantino, in the Brasileirão, raised a warning signal.

In the match for the State Championship, at the beginning of February, Timão recorded an audience of 28,600 paying guests at the Itaquera stadium, in the east zone of São Paulo. Last Thursday (12), against Massa Bruta, the number dropped to 26,700 fans — the worst mark since June 2023, when Alvinegro faced Liverpool, from Uruguay.

Itatiaia heard sources linked to the to understand the internal assessment of the numbers, as the average audience at the Arena is usually significantly higher.

In 2025, Timão was the second club with the highest average attendance in the country, with 41,794 fans, behind only , which registered 51,677.

According to the report, the lower demand is explained, among other factors, by the short interval between the end of the last season and the beginning of this one. Corinthians played matches until close to Christmas due to the Copa do Brasil, mobilizing the fans in clashes against Cruzeiro (round trip) and Vasco (round trip).

The final of the competition, at Maracanã, was played on December 21st, while Corinthians’ debut in 2026 took place on January 11th, against Ponte Preta.

With this short break, the club understands that some of the fans were unable to plan financially as expected for the first games of the year. Furthermore, on February 1st, Timão faced Flamengo in the Brazilian Super Cup, in Brasília, which required travel and generated additional costs for many fans.

The matches that had a full Arena this season were the classics, against (44,405 paying) and Palmeiras (45,209), which also involved extra expenses for Fiel Torcida.

At the same time, it has sold tickets at prices considered high for non-members, even in games with less appeal. Against RB Bragantino, for example, the most expensive sectors ranged between R$110 and R$320.

In front of Massa Bruta, the departure time (8pm) and the fact that the date is considered Carnival Eve were highlighted as factors to be taken into consideration.

The implementation of facial biometrics, in July 2025, had a negative impact on the public by restricting the exchange and transfer of tickets for the Fiel Torcedor program. Currently, however, this factor is no longer identified internally as determining the drop in fan attendance.

Corinthians’ next match at the Neo Química Arena is scheduled for March 11, against Coritiba, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), in the fifth round of the Brazilian Championship.
