Payment for services provided by Portuguese police officers outside normal working hours will increase, following a Government decree published this week in Diário da República. At issue are the so-called paid, or gratuity, services carried out by members of the PSP and GNR in favor of public and private entities.

For officers, according to the news agency, remuneration increases from R$44 to R$60.51 on working days between 8 am and 8 pm, and from R$62.50 to R$85.96 when the service is provided at night, on weekends or on holidays.
