Minister of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic Samuel Migaľ emphatically defends himself against the statements of deputy Róbert Puci (Voice-SD), who, according to him, tried to transfer the responsibility for not negotiating the government law to the department of investments. However, according to him, the facts speak clearly: the draft law on information technologies in public administration has been in parliament for three months, and MIRRI warned about the risks in advance.
“The law has been in the parliament since November. I have repeatedly warned the chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Richard Raši, that if it is not discussed at this meeting, there will be a problem in meeting the milestones of the Recovery Plan. I asked for his scheduled hearing. Instead of solving the law, however, attention was paid to disrupting ‘unsuitable’ authorities and political theaters around Šimeček’s mother. If someone talks about responsibility today, he should admit that he shot himself in the foot,” said Minister of Investments Samuel Migaľ, adding that he will demand that the parliament discuss government laws as a priority at the coalition council.
At the same time, Minister Migaľ emphasizes that the government’s proposal was not presented by MIRRI SR for its own interestsbut based on the requirements of other departments, including departmental colleagues from Hlas-SD, in order to eliminate application problems and ensure the continuity of drawing funds from the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic.
According to him, despite repeated warnings, the deputies decided to include the discussion of the law only on the eve of the end of the meeting – at a time when it was obvious that its proper discussion would no longer be possible. Therefore, according to him, the responsibility for the situation cannot be transferred to the department, which should have acted in a timely and transparent manner. “If someone feels that political games are more important than the milestones of the Recovery Plan and European resources for Slovakia, they should say so openly. MIRRI has fulfilled its duty.” added Minister Samuel Migaľ.
MIRRI SR is ready to cooperate immediately on the inclusion of the law in the next meeting so that there is no threat to European resources for Slovakia. TASR was informed about this by the communication department of the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic.
