The senators argue that the text released by União Brasil “was not previously debated nor did it have the consent of this bench”. Therefore, they conclude that the note “cannot be interpreted as representative of the PP senators”.
Five of the party’s eight senators signed the declaration: (MS), who is leader of the PP and posted the position on social media, in addition to Dr. Hiran (RR), Esperidião Amin (SC), Luis Carlos Heinze (RS) and Margareth Buzetti (MT).
Daniella Ribeiro (PB), Láercio Oliveira (SE) and (PI), who is president of the party and signed the note of support for Toffoli, do not endorse Tereza Cristina’s statement.
