House fire leaves four people homeless in Paredes

Civil Protection revealed that the house is uninhabitable “because one of the rooms was very smoky”. The evacuees were not injured.

Four people were left homeless this Monday in Rebordosa, in the municipality of Paredes, following a housing fire, sources from the Sub-Regional Command of the Porto Metropolitan Area and the GNR of Lordelo revealed to Lusa.

The alert was given at 12:40 and the house became uninhabitable, said the Guard source.

When the Paredes Chamber was contacted to inquire about the accommodation of the four people, a source from the Porto district city hall stated, at 2:30 pm, that the matter was being dealt with.

“Elements of civil protection and social action from the Câmara de Paredes went to the location to assess needs,” he said.

At around 3:00 p.m., once the survey was completed, the A source from the municipality reported that the four people would stay in a family member’s house.

According to the source, the revealed that the house is uninhabitable “because one of the rooms was very smoky”.

The city hall source added that none of the homeless were injured and that the house is insured.
