Carnavalesco leaves Portela after parade with problems: “Attacks”

The carnival of PortelaAndré Rodrigues, announced that he left the samba school this Monday (16). The group paraded on Sunday night.

In a post on Instagram, the carnival worker said he decided to leave Portela because he was dealing with too many responsibilities and attacks directed at him and his daughter, a four-month-old baby.

“Today I, alone, decided to leave Portela. Just like yesterday, alone, I took responsibility for so many things. I’m not a perfect artist, but I have an unshakable commitment to the best delivery of everything I do. This, on many occasions, places responsibilities beyond my role on my shoulders.. I shouldn’t have been the only person in the squad who knew how to unlock a float to ensure the Old Guard paraded, but I was and I did,” he wrote.

He also cited other problems that occurred during the day, before the parade. “In addition to the car, yesterday showed how I have teams with me (including volunteers) who believe in me and the project. Even though they were exhausted, in the face of so much chaos, they dedicated themselves in a single afternoon to doing and redoing their work to guarantee dignity to the parade.”

Afterwards, the carnival worker spoke about the attacks on his family. “I, practically alone, in these years have dealt and deal with the responsibility for everything, and also with attacks against me, now in posts about my daughter, a four-month-old baby. Honestly, internet hate doesn’t scare me, but it helps me rethink priorities. Four months, a time in which I wish I had been much more present and I wasn’t there to ensure that this carnival reached the avenue in a dignified manner.”

Finally, he declared his love for Portela and thanked his friends who helped him along the way.

How was the Portela parade

From then on he started living in the region. During the parade, the front committee took a “giant drone” – and manned – to Sapucaí. During the performance, a mounted member took off, flying over the other dancers.

However, the school’s last float entered the avenue late, creating a hole in Sapucaí. The association’s parade had to be stopped for a long time to wait for the car to reach the parade, which could generate discounts on Portela’s score.

In the last few minutes, the century-old Portela had to speed up leaving the avenue to avoid running out of time and completed the crossing with one minute remaining before the 80-minute limit.
