Girona – FC Barcelona suffered an unexpected defeat at Girona in the Spanish football championship and thus handed over the league lead to Real Madrid. In the 1-2 draw in the all-Catalan duel on Monday evening, Barcelona star Lamine Yamal missed a penalty shortly before the end of the first half of the game. Defender Pau Cubarsi gave the favorite the lead after an hour. But Girona turned the game around with goals from Thomas Lemar (62′) and Fran Beltran (87′).
