Vienna – Transport Minister Peter Hanke (SPÖ) wants to make ÖBB fit for the future and to reform the group structure. He commissioned the supervisory board and the board of directors of the Federal Railways to develop a concept for the period up to 2040. The ÖBB should become more efficient and the focus should be on customer orientation. However, it should not be an austerity program and there are no plans to cut jobs, the minister told the APA on Tuesday.
