Surgery has already been performed in Portugal; dental implants are placed using real-time dynamic surgical navigation.
It’s a dental surgery innovative in Portugal: it has dynamic navigation in real time.
The innovation, which has already been carried out, will be presented next Friday (20th) by MD Clínica, dental and aesthetic medicine clinics integrated into the Lusíadas Saúde Group.
The procedure first involves a digital planning high precision – based on a computed tomography and an intraoral scan. This step allows you to define the ideal position of each implant to the millimeter.
The surgery consists of placing dental implants using real-time dynamic surgical navigation.
The X-Guide system works as a Surgical ‘GPS’ which continuously advises the doctor regarding the position, inclination and depth of the implants, says a statement.
Therefore, dentists make a real-time guided execution; total control in the hands of the surgeon who can instantly correct micro-deviations during the intervention.
This X-Guide system offers submillimetre precision and significantly increases the predictability and safety of surgery.
“This technology allows us to significantly increase the level of precision and safety of surgery, always keeping clinical control and decision-making in the hands of the doctor”, describes Dr. Alexandra Marques, founding physician of MD Clínica.
Already in postoperative, It is a less invasive and more painless phase, for faster recovery.
“Real-time dynamic navigation represents a very relevant advance in modern implant dentistry, especially in more demanding cases, and also translates into better experience and recovery for the patient”, continues the specialist.
