Montenegro reduces costs with Sport TV: São Bento subscription now costs five thousand euros

Prime Minister reduced Sport TV subscription from eight to two channels. Instead of 20 thousand euros, the costs of the São Bento Palace ‘package’ are now around 5 thousand euros.

Luís Montenegro ordered a reduction in spending on Sport TV at Palácio de São Bento. After it was revealed that the contract to access the channel cost 20 thousand euros, the prime minister ordered a reduction in connections to the channels, which are now two instead of eight. Costs will drop to R$5,000.

This Monday, the of Sport TV at Palácio de São Bento was announced. O agreement, made by direct agreement in December last year, through (SGG) with the telecommunications operator guaranteed ‘premium’ subscription to the channel in Parliament and São Bento until August 19, 2028.

Instead of 20 thousand euros, the contract will now cost around five thousand euros and will be tied to two connections.

The Secretary General of the Government stated that the plan with the eight connections dates back to 2017when António Costa was prime minister.

Last year, the cost 1.170 euros to the Government. With the R$20,000 agreement, it was expected that the charges would be much higher, reaching 7.023 euros.
