Nine schools return to the Anhembi Sambódromo next Saturday (21) for the traditional São Paulo Carnival Champions Parade. The highlight of the night will be the champion, Mocidade Alegre.
The parade brings together the five best placed, with the champion ending the night as the main attraction, followed by Gaviões da Fiel, Dragões da Real, Academicos do Tatuapé and Baroque South Zone.
Also participating are the champion and runner-up of , Academicos of Tucuruvi and Pérola Negra, in addition to the champion and runner-up of , Morro da Casa Verde and X-9 Paulistana, promoted to the higher division.
Saturday’s event is not competitive in nature, it is a celebration of the highlights of the qualification.
The traditional Mocidade Alegre told the story of actress Léa Garcia, who died in 2023 at the age of 90. The plot “Malunga Léa – The Rhapsody of a Black Goddess” was developed by storyteller Leonardo Antan and carnival artist Caio Araújo and brought the trajectory of the black actress and her pioneering spirit.
