Satellite images show Iran fortifying sites amid tensions with US

Feb 18 (Reuters) – Satellite images show that Iran recently built a concrete shield over a new installation at a sensitive military site and covered it with earth, experts say, advancing work on a site that would have been bombed by Israel in 2024 amid tensions with the United States.

The images also show that Iran buried tunnel entrances at a nuclear facility bombed by the US during the 12-day war between Israel and Iran last year, fortified tunnel entrances near another location and repaired missile bases damaged in the conflict.

The images offer a glimpse of Iranian activities in some of the locations at the center of tensions with Israel and the US, as Washington seeks to negotiate a deal with Tehran over its nuclear program and threatens military action if negotiations fail.
