Lisbon – Real Madrid’s Brazilian star Vinicius Junior is once again at the center of a suspected racism scandal. Within a few moments, the former world footballer experienced intense emotions on Tuesday during David Alaba’s club’s eventful victory in the Champions League play-off first leg at Benfica Lisbon. After his dream goal (50th) in the 1-0 win, the 25-year-old initially celebrated at the corner flag. Referee Francois Letexier interpreted this as a provocation and gave the goalscorer a yellow card.
