The President of the United States, Donald Trump, accused former President Barack Obama of revealing confidential information when talking about aliens in a recent appearance on a podcast.
“He gave confidential information, he shouldn’t have done that,” Trump told reporters this Thursday (19), aboard Air Force One.
Asked if this meant aliens exist, Trump responded that he didn’t know “if they’re real or not.”

“What I can say is that he passed on confidential information, he shouldn’t have done that”, insisted the president. Trump even suggested that he could “get the former president out of trouble” by declassifying the data in question.
Obama was asked about extraterrestrial life earlier this month, in an interview with progressive commentator Brian Tyler Cohen, and responded: “they are real.”
“But I haven’t seen them. And they’re not stored at Area 51,” Obama added.

The statements fueled a wave of speculation about life beyond Earth, although the former president later clarified that he was not implying that he had any privileged information.
“Statistically, the universe is so big that the probability of life out there is high,” Obama wrote on Instagram. “But the distances between solar systems are enormous, so the chances that we have ever been visited by aliens are low – and I have seen no evidence during my tenure that aliens have made contact with us. Seriously!”
Trump was repeatedly criticized by Democrats, while in power, for exposing sensitive information, and ended up being federally indicted for deliberately withholding classified defense documents after the end of his first term. The case ended up being dropped after he won re-election in 2024.
