This is because they feed on leaves, young shoots and fruits, which makes them plants lose their strength to grow and stop developing properly.

It is also worth knowing that they cause the greatest damage at night and after rain, when the humid environment favors their activity. Their presence is most often evidenced by characteristic traces of mucus and irregular holes in the leaves.

Additionally, snails can transmit plant diseases and promote the growth of mold, as damaged tissues become susceptible to infection. If we want to get rid of them, we don’t always have to use expensive products from specialist stores.

An effective home method to get rid of snails in the garden is to prepare a natural mixture in which snails play a key role. Her the intense aroma effectively repels molluscs that do not tolerate the smell and avoid areas saturated with it.

Finely ground ash is added to coffee, which makes it difficult for snails to move on the surface, and at the same time enriches the soil with potassium and calcium. The next ingredient is sawdust or raw wood shavings, which create a physical barrier. This makes snails reluctant to move over sharp or rough structures. Additionally this material dries the area, limiting moist places conducive to their activity.

It is also worth adding crushed egg shells to the mixture, which also make it difficult for snails to move. When preparing such a powder, just sprinkle it thinly around plants or flower beds, without pouring it directly on the leaves. Thanks to this, we will create a barrier that effectively protects the garden, supports soil health and is completely safe for plants and the environment.
