An injured woman was found in the village of Helcmanovce in the district of Gelnica on Sunday morning. The police informed about it, saying that they are actively acting in connection with the event. “Police officers are at the scene and are investigating why the act was committed, as well as the circumstances that preceded it,” Košice regional police spokeswoman Lenka Ivanová said. According to rescuers, the woman had multiple stab wounds.

“The investigation into this incident is at an early stage, so we will provide more information as soon as the situation in the investigation allows,” the spokeswoman added.
Two ambulances of the emergency medical service (ZZS) intervened on the spot. “The still unidentified woman was transported to the Košice hospital with multiple stab wounds.
