The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), sanctioned a bill approved by the government that creates the Friend of Care Seal, granted to companies that pay for justified absences of employees who accompany their children, guardians or people under their responsibility to medical appointments or school commitments.
The project was presented by the collective mandate of black women in the Assembly. The initiative is co-authored by all opposition deputies (PT, REDE AND PSB).
Companies will receive the seal from the state public administration, after proof of adoption of the policy. The distinction may also be used as an additional scoring criterion or tiebreaker in favor of companies in bidding notices, partnerships or agreements.
“This is a great victory for working people. The Friend of Care Seal values existing practices of social responsibility and encourages new companies to incorporate care into their daily lives”, says Paula Nunes, co-deputy of the PSOL Feminist Caucus.
The law is the result of what happened in May 2025, in which projects were presented simultaneously in several legislative houses in the country. The action was articulated by and by the Enxame Network of parliamentarians from (MEL).
