Verona/Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo – After the spectacle on snow and ice, the athletes said goodbye to the Winter Olympics on Sunday evening at the closing ceremony in the almost 2,000-year-old arena in Verona. Austria’s flag was carried by the two gold-winning snowboard crosser Alessandro Hämmerle and skeleton pilot Janine Flock. The next Winter Games are in the French Alps in four years. Before that, the Summer Games will take place in Los Angeles in 2028.
