The minister, of the (Supreme Federal Court), determined that the Command of the 19th
Battalion of the Federal District explain, within 48 hours, two visits to the former Minister of Justice in Papudinha that would have occurred outside the authorized times.
In an order published this Monday (23), Moraes stated that the latest visit report presented by the police to the Supreme Court indicates that João Torres Filho, Anderson Torres’ father, and Patrícia Gisele Torres, the former minister’s sister, were at the location on February 11, a Wednesday, from 5pm to 7pm.
The minister, rapporteur of the coup plot in the court, stated that meetings should only be held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, in three specific periods: between 8am and 10am, 11am and 1pm or from 2pm to 4pm. In other words, the two visits to Torres would have exceeded the permitted time limit.
According to Alexandre de Moraes, the days and times for the visits were established by him on January 29, 2026, in response to a change request made by the battalion responsible for Papudinha.
“In view of the above, under the terms of articles 21 and 341 of the Internal Regulations of the Supreme Federal Court, REQUEST the Command of the 19th Military Police Battalion, so that they can provide clarifications, within 48 (forty-eight) hours”, determined the minister. The document was signed on Friday (20).
Former Minister of Justice during the (PL) government, Anderson Torres by the STF to 24 years in prison for involvement in the attempted coup d’état. He was also the DF Security Secretary during January 8th.
A Sheet contacted the press office of the DF Military Police and the 19th Battalion by email to question the reason for the visits taking place outside the permitted hours and to ask for a position on Moraes’ decision. There was no response until the publication of this report.
