Owner of the best campaign in the first phase of Paulistão, Novorizontino defeated Santos on the afternoon of this Sunday (22), playing at the Dr Jorge Ismael de Biasi stadium.

Enderson Moreira’s team found a goal in second half stoppage timewith Léo Naldi taking notes from the top of his head. THE team from the interior reaches the semi-finals of the competition with the advantage of deciding at home. Now it remains to decide the game between Portuguesa and Corinthians, which takes place at 8:30 pm, at the Canindé stadium.

The first stage started with little inspiration from both teams. In one of the most controversial moves of the match, in the 15th minute, Tavinho received the ball on the left side and finished. But Santos defender Escobar threw himself against the ball, which hit his left arm and went out along the baseline. VAR analyzed and ordered the game to continue.

A few minutes later, Gabigol received the ball inside the area, but was blocked by Novorizontino’s defense. The match continued without many dangerous moves, with the black and white team having more possession of the ball, while the interior team tried to take advantage of the counterattacks.

In the final minutes, the duel finally heated up. In the 39th minute, Robson beat the defenders inside the area and headed the ball very dangerously. A little later, Santos gave the answer. Gabigol was thrown into the middle and ended up blocked by goalkeeper Jordi. The ball fell to Neymar, who passed it to Rony. Number 11 released the shot, but Dantas cleared the danger and avoided the goal.

At 45, Neymar received a pass in the defense field and ended up delivering it to Tavinho. The Novorizontino midfielder invaded the area and passed it to Rômulo, who just pushed it into the back of Gabriel Brazão’s net. The number 10 reached his fifth goal in the state championship.

With the deficit on the scoreboard, coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda made a change at halftime, replacing Gabriel Bontempo with Gabriel Menino. Just like in the first stage, Santos managed to maintain possession of the ball, but did not pose any danger to goalkeeper Jordi in the opening minutes.

Os The home team had the chance to increase the score in the 9th minute. Robson received a pass from Rômulo and shot to a great save by Gabriel Brazão. On the rebound, Novorizontino’s number 11 sent the ball wide of the goal.

The coastal team managed the first big move of the second half just after 15 minutes. Rony and Neymar had a good exchange of backheel passes and the ball went to Barreal. The Argentine cleared the mark and finished with great danger. The move also included a deflection by the opposing defense

The change that Vojvoda made at halftime had an effect in the 19th minute. Igor Vinícius made a good move on the right side and crossed low. Gabriel Barbosa drilled the ball and the ball fell cleanly to Gabriel Bontempo. The boy from the Santos base hit the archer’s right corner and tied the match.

With the score tied, Novorizontino felt the blow and saw the black and white team pressurize in the following minutes. In one of the moves, Neymar played the ball with Gabriel Barbosa and received it inside the area. The goalkeeper did well and took the ball from the player’s feet.

In the 33rd minute, Neymar had another chance, this time from a dead ball. The number 10 took a free kick very close to the baseline and hit it straight. Jordi stretched out and prevented another goal from the São Paulo giant.

Former Botafoguense Luís Oyama had a good opportunity to put the home team ahead on the scoreboard again. In the 38th minute of the second half, the midfielder picked up the ball at the edge of the area and tried to place it in Brazão’s left corner, but ended up sending it out.

Vojvoda’s team had two last chances in stoppage time. Moisés broke free from the marking and shot dangerously. And, shortly after, Neymar caught the ball at the edge of the area and made a weak shot, which was easily saved by the archer.

When everything seemed to be heading towards penalties, striker Vinícius Paiva made a great move on the right side and crossed the ball to midfielder Léo Naldi. The midfielder beat the mark and sent it into the back of Gabriel Brazão’s net.
