Ingrid Pikinskeni Morais Santos cried while answering questions from the commission’s rapporteur, federal deputy Alfredo Gaspar (União-AL)
The INSS CPI closed the testimony of Ingrid Pikinskeni Morais Santos, wife of Cícero Marcelino de Souza Santos, financial operator of the National Confederation of Family Farmers and Rural Family Entrepreneurs (Conafer) ahead of schedule this Monday, 23. She cried while answering questions from the commission’s rapporteur, federal deputy Alfredo Gaspar (União-AL), about her relationship with the entity, one of those involved in the illegal discount scheme of retirements.
President of the collegiate, senator Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG), interrupted the session so that she could be attended to by a medical team. A report will still be issued, but the parliamentarian has already confirmed that the deponent will no longer speak to the panel.
Ingrid received payments from Cícero Marcelino, target of Operation Without Discount, by the Federal Police. The values came from associative discounts made by Conafer. In Congress, she stated that she did not know the origin of the funds and believed that her husband was a successful businessman.
Asked if she was surprised by her husband’s sudden enrichment and the source of his income, she said: “Consulting, administrative. He was always a salesman.”
Gaspar questioned the fact that Cícero Marcelino did not have higher education. “What was he going to provide consultancy for?” he asked. The deponent replied: “Of life”. In the next two questions, she used the right to silence, but she did so with a choked voice. Viana then interrupted the testimony, which was not resumed.
