Video game comes out in November. It will be the “biggest game launch in history”, according to Rockstar — and apparently, it will also be the most expensive in history.
The store Loaded will start digital pre-sales of the long-awaited GTA VI and the price of the game scared the public.
In the United States, the standard edition of the game will be sold for $124.19, while on the European platform it will cost 104,39 euros. For now, the available option is just “Notify me”.
The value is much higher than that charged for AAA game releases, a standard that has been seen at US$79.99 in the United States. In other words, GTA 6 would represent a considerable jump in the pricing of titles for PS5 and Xbox Series (it is important to keep in mind that this amount is charged by the Loaded store, and not the price suggested by Rockstar on the main platforms. Officially, pre-sales of GTA 6 on the PS Store and Xbox Store have not yet started).
The public’s fear is that Rockstar (producer of Grand Theft Auto) and Take-Two Interactive are testing the limits of the market and will start charging more for their games. And this could be the first step in that direction.
Still, it’s important to note: this may just be a “provisional price”, set to be replaced as soon as Rockstar reveals the official price that will be charged for GTA 6 on PS5 and Xbox Series.
Loaded also shows a version of the game for PC, which doesn’t even have a release date. It’s selling for around $83.
What we know about GTA VI
Among much speculation (and after several postponements), there are some things we already know from official Rockstar Games channels.
The game will take place in the fictional state of Leonidas (parody of the state of Florida). The map will include Vice City (a parody of Miami, already well known to lovers of the saga) and other small cities.
For the first time with a female protagonist — Lucia Caminos — Jason Duvalyour boyfriend, will also be a playable character.
A former military man, Jason grew up surrounded by criminals and is linked to local drug dealers in the Keys. Lucia leaves Leonida’s prison, wants to change and seeks to achieve “the good life” that her mother dreamed of since the time she lived in Liberty City (New York).
A simple scam goes wrong and both end up involved in a criminal conspiracy that crosses the state of Leonida. They are forced to rely on each other to survive.
Rockstar has also announced the “biggest and most immersive evolution” of all GTAs and the “biggest game launch in history”.
GTA VI will be officially launched on November 19, 2026 and will be available for PlayStation 5 e Xbox Series X|S (only later will it be released for PC, on a date to be announced).
