The Discord drama goes into the next round. At the beginning of the month, the chat platform Discord, which is popular with gamers and online personalities, announced that it would introduce age controls in March. They wanted to switch all users to “youth accounts” (U16) by default. Anyone who wants to access content restricted to these age groups must have their age determined. Facial scans or ID checks were planned for this. The project caused massive criticism, not least because a Discord partner company lost 70,000 ID details to attackers just a few months ago.
