It worked once more. After the Supreme Court overturned the first-instance conviction against the mayor of Bludenz for abuse of office, he was now back in court. The Feldkirchen public prosecutor’s office accused Simon Tschann (ÖVP) of having approved a construction project and a leniency in distances for it, even though this was illegal under building law. He was sentenced to an eight-month conditional prison sentence and an unconditional fine of 60,000 euros (300 daily rates of 200 euros each) for abuse of office.
