The 2026 Recopa Sul-Americana final will have its second chapter this Thursday (19), when Flamengo and Lanús face each other at Maracanã, in Rio de Janeiro.
The ball rolls at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), in a clash that promises strong emotions between the champions of the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana from the previous season.
Striker Rodrigo Castillo scored the goal that guaranteed the club’s advantage.
With this result, Lanús needs to hold on to the score, but if Mengão ties the game by just one goal difference, the dispute will go into 30-minute extra time and if the result persists, the Recopa title will be defined on penalties.
But if Rubro-Negro wins by two or more goals, Fla will become the great champion of the Recopa Sul-Americana.

Flamengo, led by the coach, will have the support of their fans at the stadium, while Lanús, under the guidance of Mauricio Pellegrino, will seek victory away from home.
This final pits two teams that stood out on the South American scene last season face-to-face. Flamengo arrives as champion of the Libertadores, while Lanús won the Sudamericana, creating great expectations for the final of this clash.
The teams have already faced each other twice in the Copa Libertadores in 2012. The red-black team, still with Ronaldinho Gaúcho, drew the first match 1-1, and won the second 3-0, but ended up eliminated from the competition.
Flamengo is looking for its second Recopa championship, after winning the title in 2020, against Independiente del Valle, from Ecuador. Lanús is playing in the final for the second time, after being runner-up to Atlético-MG in 2014. Therefore, the Argentines will try to win the unprecedented trophy in the club’s history.
