A carried out 42 search and seizure warrants this Wednesday (25) under the authorization of minister Flávio Dino, of the (Supreme Federal Court), in an investigation into suspected deviations from amendments by former senator Fernando Bezerra Coelho (MDB-PE) and one of his sons, deputy Fernando Coelho Filho (União Brasil-PE).
The operation, called Vassalos, aims to investigate suspicions of crimes in tenders and fraud in tenders and contracts, in addition to embezzlement, corruption, money and criminal organization. THE Sheet seeks contact with the former senator and deputy.
Fernando Bezerra Coelho was Minister of National Integration under Dilma Rousseff (PT) and leader of Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) government in the Senate. His son was Minister of Mines and Energy in the Michel Temer (MDB) government.
The warrants are served in the states of Pernambuco, Bahia, São Paulo, Goiás and the Federal District. There were no searches in the National Congress.
The investigation points to the existence of an organization made up of public and private agents suspected of diverting public resources arising from parliamentary amendments, by directing bids to a company linked to the group, with subsequent use of the diverted amounts to pay undue advantages and conceal assets.
