Meeting takes place after colonels seek out deputies asking for money for vests, uniforms and combat boots
The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), receives this Thursday (26) all commanders of the Military Police of the State of São Paulo at Palácio dos Bandeirantes. The meeting, with 63 colonels and representatives of the PM from 645 municipalities, takes place a week after the column revealed that officers knocked on the doors of deputies’ offices in the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo (Alesp) .
The expectation is that the commanders will present the scenario of the current situation of the PM and propose improvements, listing the main needs and bottlenecks. At 2pm, mediation will be carried out by the executive secretary of Public Security, Henguel Ricardo Pereira, together with the general commander of the PM, José Augusto Coutinho.
Since Jovem Pan’s complaint, Henguel has received the colonels precisely to map out the requests and demands. A list is also being prepared so that the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) can list priorities. The idea is also to have an organization of what will go beyond the budget and can be requested by parliamentary amendment from partner deputies who are interested. The document will be presented to the governor.
At the meeting, the category must receive a sign of improvements. A new career flow and projection project must be presented, for example – which includes not only the PM, but the Civil Police, which has also demanded from the state management. Furthermore, the Tarcísio management will show the delivery schedule that was already scheduled for 2026, including more than 120 thousand new uniforms, one of the most basic supplies being requested. Furthermore, deliveries of more than 500 vehicles to fleets, including pick-ups, motorcycles and SUVs, were already prepared, deliveries that should also be reinforced at the meeting. The Fire Department of the State of São Paulo and the Civil Police of the State of São Paulo will also receive new vehicles.
