Singer Pink and motocross rider Carey Hart have separated after 20 years of marriage. It was reported by People magazine. The 46-year-old music star and 50-year-old athlete, according to the source ended the relationship by mutual agreement. Pink, whose real name is Alecia Moore, and Carey Hart became engaged in 2005 after meeting at the 2001 Summer X Games in Philadelphia.
The wedding took place in January 2006 in Costa Rica. They separated two years later, but confirmed their reconciliation in the spring of 2009 after annulling their divorce. They have a daughter, Willow Sage (14), and a son, Jameson Moon (9). Hart told People magazine at the time, “We’re rebuilding our relationship. Sometimes you have to take a few steps back to move forward.”
Pink later stated that psychotherapy played a significant role in their reconciliation. She admitted that it was necessary to fix the problems before resuming the relationship. “Long-term relationships aren’t easy. It’s a lot easier to stay in those good days and jump from relationship to relationship because then you don’t have to deal with the issues that keep coming back. Ultimately, you have to fix yourself; you can’t fix the other person. So it can be challenging and there are good days and bad days.” declared the singer 16 years ago.
Pink also emphasized that she reassessed her expectations before returning to Hart. “I think it’s impossible to expect to develop at exactly the same pace as another person and in exactly the same direction. It takes work to redefine what’s important. I don’t want to break up my family. That was my main goal because I had an incomplete family myself. Sometimes you have to let it go. You can’t try to win every time,” she said at the time.
