US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will arrive in Israel on Monday for talks on Iran, the US State Department announced on Friday. TASR informs about it according to AP and AFP reports.
Rubio “will discuss a range of regional priorities, including Iran, Lebanon and ongoing efforts to implement President Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan,” US State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott said without giving further details.
The announcement of Rubio’s visit to Israel comes just hours after the US Embassy in Jerusalem allowed some staff and family members to leave the country due to the worsening security situation. This is happening at a time of growing tension in the Middle East region and a possible American attack on Iran.
