The special rapporteur on violence against women and girls, Reem Alsalem, arrives in Brazil this Monday (2). And she wants to hear from women about the challenges they face in the country.
The institutional visit also aims to speak to authorities and ask for the strengthening of public policies aimed at women.
The rapporteur participates in a public hearing at the Human Rights Commission on Thursday (05) and, before that, on Tuesday (03), she teaches a master class at the Department of Psychology at UnB (University of Brasília).

The rapporteur will analyze the structural causes of violence and Brazil’s compliance with international obligations. It then issues recommendations for prevention, protection, accountability and reparation for women.
