Plant president rebuts Marinho and criticizes CUT – 03/02/2026 – Panel

The president of the CSB (Central dos Sindicatos Brasileiros), Antonio Neto, countered the criticism made by the minister of labor, in an interview with Sheet and said that the account for the delay is not the issue.

“I disagree with Minister Marinho, this account does not belong to the Union Centrals. We did not reach an agreement because of a Central that went all or nothing on two occasions and we lost this negotiated reduction in working hours”, he told the Panel.

The statement is an indirect message to the CUT (Central Única dos Trabalhadores), which was once chaired by Marinho himself.

In the interview, asking for 36 hours of work per week would not be plausible. “Those who missed this opportunity were the leaders of the trade unions, who wanted to demand everything at once”, he added.

The centers did not take the criticism well and say they will continue to fight for the agenda in the National Congress.

“I believe that with the maturity of the Central unit we will not miss the opportunity to find a path that guarantees a reduction in working hours and the end of the 6×1 scale”, concluded Antonio Neto.
